An Improved MSA Model for Evaluating the Sound Transmission Loss of a Rectangular Plate for Diffuse Field Incidence

This paper presents an approximate analytical model for estimating the transmission loss (TL) of a finite rectangular plate in low frequency range, which is based on modal summation approach (MSA) taking into account radiation impedance and fluid loading. The mode-dependent resistance calculated using Rayleigh integral. loading taken through natural modified by added mass. results are compared with ones Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) coupled FEM BEM. In addition, effects various vibration modes TL, way reducing calculation time discussed.
